A weekend in Ottawa

So being that I’ve been here for a month now, I figured its about time I spent a weekend in Ottawa, no going to Toronto or Montreal or anywhere, just a simple weekend in Ottawa. Besides after that its back to camping, montreal, and other stuff anyways so if not now….i’m not sure when hehe.

So friday night I went and played tennis with Brian, Jenn, and Tim. We all suck but it was fun. Then we went to a halal pizza and wings place I found. Mmmm…..wings! Halal Wings!!!! πŸ˜€

Saturday I met up with some interns for brunch. The raved and raved about this breakfast place and….meh. A good selection of fruit, but overall….meh. I’ve had much better. Then it was on to shopping! I think wherever I am, thats been the theme of this summer. I’ve spent so much already….but its all stuff I need! …or want…..but this time it was for camping so its stuff I need!….except for that jacket…..but it was on sale!

I also managed to get a haircut, clean my room, do my laundry, and go to the gym twice! Not bad eh? My weight hasn’t gone down yet….but…I’m optimistic. I will hit my goal (or at least be in better shape) by summers end.

I bought 1/2 a watermelon yesterday. Now I have 1/4 watermelon. I just sat down to eat some and before I knew it….hehe, so good!

Hmm…nothing to interesting going on in this post. Oh, I’m going camping with the eb interns in ottawa and toronto this weekend. I’ve never gone camping before. I hope I come back in 1 piece (and don’t get killed by mosquitos and other bugs). These stories about black flies and deer flies are scary.

Ok, nothing too interesting is coming to mind so I think I’m just going to go read now. G’nite all.

  1. Sounds like a busy weekend! Good luck camping, you’ll be fine!

  2. Good luck camping, have you been before?

  3. I tried “camping” once….I remember I took my blanket to the backyard and sat and waited for it to turn dark, but once it started getting dark it also started getting cold, so I came back inside, hehe.

    Have fun camping.

ruby: Thanks, I hope so! πŸ˜›

Mezba: Nope, well not really. The Rotman frosh thing definitely wasn’t camping. And I did open air camping in the dessert in Jasalmer, and it was an amazing trip but that wasn’t really camping either.

Sobia: Hey, welcome to the blog πŸ™‚ haha, thats funny. I sort of went camping in Jasalmer, India once. There were no lights anywhere since we were in the dessert and it was Amazing! (freezing) but amazing! I’ve never seen so many stars before and the sunrise/sunset were incredible. This will probably be much different…but fun too I think πŸ™‚

  5. random thought. you’ve travelled alot mashallah. when r u visiting us in south africa?

  6. bb-aisha: You know my school has an exchange program……and I didn’t sign up for it…thats a different story….but I really regret it now.

However! They do have 2 week study tours to europe, south america, india, china, and south africa! And I’m really strongly considering going on the S. Africa study tour. Actually as long as my course schedule can accommodate it, I’m going!
